Because the best way to promote your "Creativity Summit" is with something uncreative. That gets the juices flowing. On a related note, is anyone going to this?

You make a great point, and your comments are actually quite insightful. What is creativity?
Thanks for your comments. :-)
Looks like the first slide in an epically bad powerpoint presentation I don't want to sit through.
It kinda leaves things to the imagination… There is no visual that points to a specific conclusion. i think that's the point.
Damon,
There are better ways to do that without the baggage of bad design and poor typography.
Damon,
that's pretty darn accurate. Many designers think design is about aesthetics and pretty trends. The goal is NOT the design itself, but what it points to. (sometimes "creatives" are the most uncreative people!)
Obviously, this event is not only for designers or marketers etc. These people tend to think they understand what creativity is. They tend to think creativity belongs to them but creativity is a process not a product.
Consider the #1 buzzword on LinkedIn in 2011 was…. you guessed it, "Creative." The Iowa Creativity Summit is valuable because there is a huge disconnect as to what creativity is and how it works. (obviously) Here's that link:

We would love to see you come to the summit (and we would love to see some Egotist folks too!)
~Justin Brady.
I feel pretty good about the amount of creativity -- and golden-maned authors -- in my life already.
Regardless of the audience, design is both concept and execution, they aren't mutually exclusive.
I'm sure this is a great event, but the logo just misses the mark on many levels.
