Supervise the general operation of UMSL at Grand Center, including reservations scheduling, general security, oversight to custodial and facilities of the building. Supervise event, reservations, and ancillary staff at UMSL at Grand Center. Hire, train, and evaluate staff. Supervise student assistant staff. Hire and train staff for weekend, evening, vacation, and holiday activities. Schedule work shifts and plan work schedules of event and student assistant staff. Supervise the set-up and plan work schedules of event and student assistant staff. Supervise the set-up and tear down of rooms for scheduled events. Check for proper placement of tables, chairs, podiums, audio-visuals and food service setups. Check audio-visual equipment, microphones, etc. for proper installation and to ensure equipment is in working order. Instruct users in operation of equipment. Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment. Consult with users regarding efficient use of room. Supervise scheduled activities and events; consult with patrons to insure smooth operation and problem resolution. Maintain positive public relations with patrons through visibility and availability. Manage event scheduling software. Handle emergencies, accidents, and other unplanned occurrences by following established operating guidelines. Write detailed report of facility events. Lock inside doors, equipment room, offices, and all outside doors. Set alarms in high security areas. Attend staff meetings; meet with supervisor and alternate coordinator daily to discuss day’s events, problems, upcoming events, and staff schedules. Perform other duties as assigned.
