Spies Needed

So, we've been around a few months now and we've been having a lot of fun. But there is one big problem with running a website anonymously: events. Although we actually do go to some of the many creative and advertising events around here, we feel that to properly cover these events, we need your help. We're looking for spies. Spies who can attend the great industry events going on in Des Moines (like PRSA, AMA, AAF, YP, NAMA, AIGA ... the list goes on) and then report back to us. What does it take to be a Des Moines Egotist Spy? Four Simple Steps:

1. Let us know you want to be a spy by sending us an email at desmoines {at} theegotist {dot} com and get on our spy mailing list.

2. Attend local events. When we find out about an event we'll send an email out to our spy list and find out who's already going or wants to go and put you on assignment for the event. (Or, if you register for an event, let us know you'd like to spy on it.)

3. Report back. What were the highlights of the event? Who was there? What were the quotables? What did you learn? What did you wish you learned, but didn't? Who was best dressed? Worst? We're looking for real, honest commentary about the event. If it wasn't worth the hour and a half and $10 parking, we want to hear about it.

4. Expect your commentary to be shared with the Des Moines Egotist community, uncensored. Anything you report back to us is fair game for us to share with our readers.

Pretty easy right? It's like being a Charlie's Angel for the Iowa creative community. We're Charlie, you're the angel. As with everything you share with us, spy reports can remain anonymous or we can give you full credit for your intelligence.

Think of it as your way of making the creative community here suck less by making the events you attend better. And don't we all want less crap and more great stuff?
