Factory Design Labs is a highly creative advertising agency that boasts a client list most shops only dream of: The North Face, Callaway, Oakley, Killington Ski Resort, Aspen Ski Company as well as other culture driven brands.

We have an opening for a Sr Copywriter to be assigned to our outdoor lifestyle accounts. Ideally this individual will have a strong understanding of performance, endurance and recreational activities such as running, tennis, volleyball, hiking, climbing, mountaineering, road and mountain biking, golf, surfing, skiing or snowboarding, etc.

Position Summary:

The Senior Copywriter works in a collaborative creative relationship to conceive, develop and produce exceptional creative concepts and copy for assigned clients and projects. They are responsible for the direct management of their projects and assistance in new business pitches. Additionally, they take on a leadership role to more junior creatives on the team, take on a more strategic planning role with assigned clients and have enhanced fiscal and project planning responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Creative Responsibilities:
• Assumes copy lead role on print, online and broadcast shoots.
• Mentoring on a non-management level with Copywriters, Art Directors and Junior Art Directors.
• Create inspirational creative on every project assigned.
• Collaborate effectively with other Copywriters, Art Directors and Jr. Art Directors
• Create original work that creates success for our clients.
• Execute creative for marquee clients.
• Set the creative tone for their clients.
• Writes copy for print, online and broadcast.
• Award show planning assistance and recommendations.
• Vendor selection and management for their projects.
• Keeps up-to-date with popular culture and trends.

Creative Management:
• Responsibility for all projects assigned to them including client brand positioning, client contact, interdepartmental contact, project design and direction, project time management, assistance in RFP response /delivery.
• Follows projects from start to finish including hand off to production and engineering ensuring a successful outcome for the entire project.
• Account / project fiscal accountability.
• Client/project planning.
• Client growth and development through involvement in strategic planning.
• Executes creative assignments and supervises the project through completion with ES, PS and AS.
• Support and involvement in delivery to assigned RFPs.
• Day to day management of their clients and their projects.
• Champions brand tone, look and feel throughout creative strategy and execution with client team (AS, ES) to ensure alignment with corporate brand approach.
• Presents work to VP/CD, GCD and client.
• Attends and participates in key creative input meetings to develop creative strategies and creative requirements.
• Assists with all facets of radio production including script writing, casting and final production.
• Executes excellence in everything from concept to completion of multiple projects.
• Participates in the process along with their GCD’s in selecting vendors, such as Broadcast Directors, Illustrators, Photographers, and production requirements such as casting and other talent.
• Responsible for all facets of radio production including script writing, casting and final product
• Represents the agency in the creative community.
• Hardware and software recommendations as needed with the VP/CD.

Project Management:
• Project timeline management for projects and clients.
• Project scope management.
• Project budget management.
• Workflow management with AS, CS, PS

Financial Management:
• Project budget management for all assigned clients and projects.

Programs and skills:
• Word, Keynote, Basic copy editing in Quark/InDesign.

Supervision of:
Mentoring of Copywriter, Art Director and Junior Art Directors (non-management role).

Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Journalism, Advertising, Marketing or related field strongly preferred. Masters degree a plus.
• 4+ years of advertising copywriting experience. Leadership experience preferred.
• Impressive portfolio of work that shows experience and abilities in print, online and broadcast.
• Proven ability to manage multiple clients and their projects.
• Ability to multi-task between responsibilities while maintaining the brand vision for all assigned projects through client delivery.
• The ability to maintain a seamless communication environment between Account Services, Creative Services and Production is paramount.
• Working understanding of the relative client categories and tertiary influencers.
• Brand management from a strategic and creative level.
• Must have a clear “vision” about the importance of the creative product to the future success of the agency.
